Brown Gymnasium was the site of Saturday’s Hillsboro Takedown Tournament as the city swelled with young wrestlers and their families and friends.
Twenty-one members of the Hillsboro Kids Wrestling Club competed.
Jacob Funk, who competed in the age 6-and-under division, brought home the only first-place finish for Hillsboro.
Also wrestling in the 6-and-under division were Braden Vogt (2-1, second), Nathan Simhiser (2-1, second), Marshall Reedy (1-2, third), Tyson Reimer (1-2, third), Jorge Hanschu (0-2, third), Benjamin Koop (0-3, fourth) and Wesley Shaw (0-3, fourth).
Competing in the 8-&-under division were Brandon Klassen (2-1, second), Travis King (0-2, third), Jakob Hanschu (1-2, third) and Jesse Meier (1-2, third).
Wrestling in the 10-&-under class were Preston Nelson (2-1, second), Kody Brooks (2-1, second), Cody Delk (1-2, third) and Andrew Meier (0-3, third).
Competitors in the 12-&-under category were Darren Mueller (1-1, second), Bret Mueller (1-2, third), Kyler Borg (0-3, fourth) and Dylan Delk (0-3, fourth).
Jared King captured third place (1-2) in the 14-&-under division.
