WEDDINGS: Rhiza / Rozman

David Paul Rziha and Catarina Hedwig Rozman were united in marriage July 8 at the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Leawood. Father John Jirak officiated the nuptial mass.

Parents of the couple are Gerald and Jeanne Rziha of Tampa and Karl and Maria Rozman of Overland Park. Grandmothers attending were Gertrude Rziha of Great Bend and Bonnie Haslouer of Abilene.

The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, wore a strapless white dress embossed with lace and pearls. Her 10-foot veil, made by Debbie Flores, was held in place with a rhinestone-and-pearl tiara.

Maid of honor was Alexandra Rozman, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Gabriella Rozman and Marissa Rozman, sisters of the bride, and Barbara Bavis, friend of the bride. All four wore long peach-colored dresses with a flounce at the hemline. They each carried a bouquet of bold gerbera daisies that complimented the bride’s.

Best man was Shawn Allen, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin McCullough, friend of the groom, and Wayne Rziha and John Rziha, brothers of the groom.

Joseph Rziha, nephew of the groom, carried the rings. Cecilia Marie Rziha, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.

Altar servers were Albert Jirak and Emilio Aita, friends of the groom. Eucharistic minister was Mary Jirak of Tampa. Vocalists were Susie, Cecilia and Julie, sisters of the groom. Lectors were Alexander Rozman, cousin of the bride, Bridgett Kappelman, friend of the couple, and Diane Rziha, sister of the groom.

Ushers were Jason and Greg Haslouer, cousins of the groom, and Lucas Carlson and John Kollhoff, friends of the groom. Guestbook attendant was Janie Rziha, sister of the groom.

A reception, dinner and dance was held in the church hall. Reception attendants were Jeanne Rziha and Shannon Rziha, sisters-in-law of the groom.

The groom graduated in 2004 with a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. He is employed at Aldridge Apothecary in Council Grove. The bride will graduate from the KU School of Pharmacy next May.

Following a honeymoon trip to Venice, Fla., the couple resides in Council Grove.
