Ralph Albrecht, 89
Ralph R. Albrecht, 89, retired mechanic, died Nov. 12 at Bethesda Care Home in Goessel.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Nov. 16, at Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman with Peter Voran officiating. Burial is in the Kingman Mennonite Church Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 28, 1916, to Gideon and Pauline Albrecht in Wetherford, Okla. In 1940 he was married to Susie Stucky, who predeceased him in 2004.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial has been established with Mennonite Central Committee.
Verle Bowman, 82
Verle Arlene Bowman, 82, retired store manager, died Nov. 7 in Brighton, Colo.
Her request that no memorial service be held will be honored. Burial is in Ramona.
She was born Dec. 19, 1922, to Earl and Doris Pletcher in Clarion, Iowa. In 1945 she was married to Richard E. Bowman, who predeceased her in 1997.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas Bowman of Morrill, Neb., Dennis Bowman of sailing vessel Yemanja and Dale Bowman of Richland, Wash.; two daughters, Julie Calvert of Surprise, Ariz., Roxanna Moore of Canton; two sisters, Audrey Knutson of Colorado and Donna Long of Arizona; a brother, Ronald Pletcher of Montana; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
J.J. Chappelle, 79
J.J. Chappelle, 79, retired U.S. postal clerk, died Nov. 9 at Newton Medical Center.
The service was held Nov. 14 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Florence with Father Hien Nguyen officiating. Inurnment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Florence.
He was born Nov. 15, 1925, to George E. and Ruby (McCracken) Chappelle in Flippin, Ark. In 1979 he was married to Peggy Harris in Wichita, who survives in Florence.
He is also survived by two sons, Mark of Wichita and Paul of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Linda Guerra of Wichita and Veronica Crabtree of Peabody; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Central Care Cancer Center.
Lula Dowell, 92
Lula Dowell, 92, homemaker, died Nov. 9 at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home in Canton.
The graveside service was held Nov. 12 at Empire Cemetery in Galva with pastor Phil Radatz presiding.
She was born Jan. 28, 1912, to Will and Lula Pershall Latty in Evansville, Ark. In 1931 she was married to H.I. Dowell, who predeceased her in 1998.
She is survived by a son, Charles K. Dowell of Canton; a daughter, Lois M. Zeitlow of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Shiloh Manor Nursing Home or Hospice Care of Kansas.
Ella Franz, 95
Ella E. Franz, 95, retired music teacher at Tabor College, died Nov. 13 at Showalter Villa in Hesston.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston. Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Buhler City Cemetery. The memorial service is at 2 p.m. at Showalter Villa Chapel in Hesston with pastors Howard Berglund and Cheryl Hershberger and chaplain Beverly Baumgartner officiating.
She was born Feb. 17, 1910, to John Janzen and Elizabeth (Ediger) Franz in Buhler.
She is survived by two sisters, Esther Franz of Hesston and Margaret Kroeker of Hesston; three nephews, Calvin Kroeker of Wayne, Neb., David Franz of Birmingham, Ala., and John Stenen Franz; and a niece, Karen Kroeker of Fairfax, Va.
Memorials have been established with the music department of First Baptist Church of McPherson and Showalter Villa.
Goldie Funk, 76
Goldie Jean Funk, 76, dietician and cook, died Nov. 13 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 16, at Jost Funeral Home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro. The service will be at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church with pastor Randy Smith officiating.
She was born Feb. 3, 1929, to David D. and Justina (Janzen) Unruh in Goessel. In 1949 she was married to LaVerne J. Funk, who predeceased her in 1990.
She is survived by two sons, Elmer L. and wife Christine Funk of Newton and David D. and wife Gaye Funk of Hillsboro; a daughter, Virginia and husband James Martens of Hillsboro; three brothers, Tony Unruh of Inola, Okla., Lee Unruh of Minneapolis, Minn., and John Unruh of Hillsboro; four sisters, Elvena Brandt of Goessel, Tina Unruh of Hillsboro, Norma Schrock of Elkhart, Ind., and Adella Gabel of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church and American Diabetes Association.
Clarence Hiebert, 78
Clarence Hiebert, 78, professor emeritus of religious studies at Tabor College, died Nov. 14 in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be today, Nov. 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wohlgemuth Center lobby at Tabor College. The service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Trinity Mennonite Church with pastor Dave Plett officiating.
Prior to the service at 3 p.m., the burial will take place in Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. The public is invited to attend.
He was born July 12, 1927, to C.N. and Tina Harms Hiebert in Winnipeg, Man. On Sept. 1, 1951, he was married to Ferne Kornelson, who survives in Hillsboro.
He is also survived by two sons, Tim Hiebert of Cheney and Bob and wife Carrie Hiebert of Charlotte, N. C.; two daughters, Beth and husband Sheldon Klassen of Moundridge and Sue and husband Mark Scheer of Hamilton, Ohio; a brother, Erwin Hiebert of Boston, Mass.; two sisters Martha Richert of Bakersfield, Calif., and Naomi Dyck of Fresno, Calif; 13 grand children and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established to Tabor College.

Lottie G. Hoffman, 95, retired cook, died Nov. 11 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.
The service was held Nov. 15 at Marion Christian Church with pastor Carl Helm officiating. Burial was at Grant Township Cemetery in rural Marion.
She was born Sept. 29, 1910, to Charles and Tiney Fisher in rural Florence. In 1933 she was married to Clyde Hoffman, who predeceased her in 1976.
She is survived by two sons, Ken Hoffman of Florence and Robert Hoffman of El Reno, Okla.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dicky Morgan, 61
Fred Richard “Dicky” Morgan, 61, semi-truck driver, died Nov. 7 at Galichia Hospital in Wichita.
The memorial service was held Nov. 12 at First Methodist Church in Syracuse with William Fitzgerrel officiating.
He was born Feb. 25, 1944, to Fred and Valera Graham Morgan in Syracuse. He was a resident of Marion since 2000.
He is survived by his mother; three brothers, Carl and wife Cathy and Howard and and wife Gert, all of Canton, and Terry and wife Michaelene of Wichita; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice Rosiere, 82
Alice L. Rosiere, 82, retired hardware-store employee, died Nov. 11 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
The service was Nov. 15 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Florence with pastor Steve Hysom officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.
She was born Oct. 31, 1923, to John and Roxanna Blankenship in Neosho, Mo. In 1940 she was married to Jess Rosiere, who predeceased her in 1995.
She is survived by a son, Bill Rosiere of Florence; a daughter, Janis Shanklin of Florence; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Florence Public Library.
Otto Voth, 84
Otto B. Voth, 84, farmer, died Nov. 11 at Newton Medical Center.
Burial is at 9:30 a.m. today, Nov. 16, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Goessel. The service is at 10:30 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, with pastors Mark Wiens and Lee Suderman officiating and Howard Friesen and Walt Friesen also presiding.
He was born June 12, 1921, to Herman S. and Elizabeth (Enz) Voth in rural Goessel. In 1957 he was married to Marietta K. Friesen, who survives in Goessel.
He is also survived by three sons, Larry K. Voth of Goessel, Don L. Voth of Marion and Nelson Voth of Newton; a daughter, Jane Voth of Wichita; a brother, Marvin Voth of Goessel; five sisters, Agnes Goosen of Goessel, Ruby Mastellar of Beloit and Irena Janzen, Marie Voth and Martha Voth, all of North Newton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Bethesda Home and Mennonite Central Committee.
