DCP payments ready in October for Marion County producers

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Along with bringing in the fall crops, producers enrolled in the 2002-07 Direct & Counter-cyclical Program (DCP) are able to harvest a variety of program-related payments during the month of October.

The 2005 final direct and first advance counter-cyclical as well as 2004 final counter-cyclical payments have been issued. More than 3,400 Marion County producers shall receive at least one type of these payments.

Payments are processed by electronic funds transfer or direct deposit to eligible producers bank accounts. Those producers with outstanding financial assignments have their monies routed to designated assignees.

Direct type payments are guaranteed and paid to all DCP contract share producers, whereas counter-cyclical payments are earned only when U.S. Department of Agriculture calculated effective prices are below target prices.

For more information about the DCP payment rates, contact the Farm Service Agency office for Marion County in Marion.
