Hanson, Strickland marry July 22

Jennifer Hanson and Mike Strickland were married July 22 at the Cheyenne Canon Inn bed and breakfast in Colorado Springs, Colo. Karen Serfass, innkeeper, officiated.

Attending the ceremony were the couple’s parents, Margaret Pippin of Marion, Vic Hanson of Salina and Carl and Cathy Strickland of Oswego.

A reception and dance were held July 30 at the Emporia Country Club.

The bride, who graduated from Marion High School and Emporia State University, teaches vocal music at Timmerman Elementary School in Emporia. She will complete a master’s degree in music education from ESU in May 2006.

The groom, a graduate of Oswego High School and ESU, teaches science at Emporia High School, where he is also head baseball coach.

Following a wedding trip through Colorado, the couple is at home in Emporia.
