The Canton-Galva cross-country competed at Halstead Thursday.
Brandon Shannon led the Eagles with a 12th-place finish in 18 minutes, 48 seconds to bring home the Eagles’ only medal.
“Brandon ran a great race,” coach Lyle Silsby said. “He improved his time from last week by 20 seconds.”
Also running for Canton-Galva were Travis Myers (20:48), Joseph Unruh (21:00), Andy Otte (21:54), Riley Nigh (22:21) and Martin Falkenberg (23:11).
For the girls, Caitlin Nelson led the way with a time of 13:46. She was followed by Alyssa Koehn (14:25), Leah Lawless (16:20), Lynn Volkman (16:23), Kelly Arendt (16:52), Sheri Volkman (17:10) and Morgan Ashpole (21:29).
“Caitlin ran a pretty good race, and I think she could have done better if she wasn’t battling a cold,” Silsby said. “She only missed medaling by one place.
“Leah Lawless continues to show improvement by moving up into our third spot,” he added. “Some of the other girls are battling the cold bug also, so nobody had times as good as last week. Hopefully, we can get everyone well for the next meet.”
That meet will take place Thursday at Towanda.
