Tabor rolls over Colorado College 66-30

The Tabor College Bluejays were on a Rocky Mountain high Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs, defeating Colorado College 63-30.



Tabor scored the first six times it touched the ball on touchdown drives of 75, 78, 70, 29 and 24 and added a 5-play 53 yard drive that led to a Bluejay 30 yard field goal on the way to a 45-9 halftime lead.



Roger Butler scored four times in the first half while backfield running mate Ben Brown added 113 first half yards to lead the Tabor offense.



Quarterback Ricky Ishida meanwhile, connected on 13-of-21 first half aerials for 197 yards connecting with favorite target Layne Frick five times for 68 yards in the opening 30 minutes.



Once into the second half, Bluejay reserves took over led by second team quarterback Ben Schmidt who scored on touchdown runs of 14 and 2 yards.



When all was said and done, the Bluejays owned a 36-point victory over the Tigers, amassing over 550 yards of total offense in the process.



With the win, Tabor moves to 2-0 this season heading back into KCAC play next Saturday night as rival Bethel College comes to Reimer Field for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
