Cast announced for Tabor’s ‘Big River’

The Tabor College music and drama departments have announced the cast for upcoming performances of “Big River.”

Based on the classic Mark Twain novel, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” “Big River” is a tale of adventure and self-discovery offering a mix of country, bluegrass and gospel music.

Judy Harder, associate professor of communications and drama, and Brad Vogel, associate professor of choral music, will direct the cast and crew. Rachel Pederson, Cimarron, will assist.

Alberto Martinez, Newton, will serve as technical director, and sound will be run by Chris Glanzer, Hillsboro.

Jonathan Regier, Hillsboro, and James Onijala, Wichita, will portray Huck and Jim.

Additional cast members are: Angie Buller, Ingalls; Christopher Chlumsky, Wichita; Rachel Foote, Bethany, Okla.; Heidi Glanzer, Abilene; Roman Hofer, Newton; Jennifer Hope, McPherson; Daniel Hurst, Fairview, Okla.; Becky Lutes, Wichita; Aaron Miller, Hillsboro; Shane Miller, Hutchinson; Elise Penrose, Bakersfield, Calif.; Jarod Richardson, Grant, Neb.; Josh Rhoades, Newton; Ashley Siler, Beloit; Andrew Toews, Hesston; Brianne Tucker, Wichita; Landon Tucker, Wichita; Brett Womack, Wichita;

Guest instrumentalists will be Thad Beach, Salina, and Doug and Jude Krehbiel, Newton, of Road Less Traveled.

Performances will take place homecoming weekend, Oct. 13 to 16, in the Tabor College Chapel-Auditorium.

The Oct. 13-15 performances will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday performance will begin at 2 p.m.

All seats are reserved and seating is limited. Ticket prices are $8 for general seating and $6 for students.
