Groneman, Hite wed July 16 in Emporia

Nancy Groneman and Robert E. Hite, both of Emporia, were united in marriage Saturday, July 16, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia. Pastor Don Conrad performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Esther Groneman and the late Arthur A. Groneman of Lincoln-ville. The groom is the son of the late Robert and Edith Hite of Indiana.

The bride wore a sleeveless sheath gown with a square-cut neckline. The bodice, skirt and chapel-length train were embellished with lace applique. The gown was covered with a net overlay that was beaded in crystals and pearls. The bride wore a tiara, encrusted in pearls and rhinestones, that held the two-tiered white, cathedral-length veil.

Esther Groneman, mother of the bride, was matron of honor. Arthur W. Groneman, brother of the bride, was best man.

Harp music was provided by Abby Treimer of Council Grove.

A champagne reception and dinner followed at the couple’s home.

The bride has a doctorate in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a professor at Emporia State University.

The groom has a doctorate in marketing from the University of Arkansas. He is the dean of the school of business at ESU.
