Twenty-six youth from across Kansas and Nebraska participated in the Fire Cracker Jackpot Sheep Show in Hillsboro July 2.
The overall grand champion lamb was shown by Melissa Brown of Hillsboro and the reserve grand champion was shown by Luke Wempe of Lawrence.
Following are the winners from each division:
— Champion yearling, Tyler Worcester, Elk Valley; reserve yearling, Matt Brown, Hillsboro.
— Champion Weather dam, Melissa Brown; reserve Weather dam, Matt Brown.
— Supreme ewe, Tyler Worcester; reserve supreme ewe, Melissa Brown.
— Champion hump: Matt Brown; reserve hump, Austin Abeldt, Abilene.
— Champion Suffolk, Matt Brown; reserve champion, Melissa Brown.
— Champion natural: Melissa Brown; reserve natural. Luke Wempe.
— Champion cross: Luke Wempe; Reserve cross, Melissa Brown.
The following day, July 3, the Kansas Club Lamb its state futurity show in Hillsboro. The grand-champion market lamb was shown by Travis Stroble of Elk County. It was bred by Stroble Club Lambs.
Melissa Brown showed the reserve grand-champion lamb. It was bred by Suderman Club Lambs of Hillsboro.
