Hillsboro swimmers receive post-season recognition

The Hillsboro swim team held its annual end-of-season picnic Thursday evening and handed out numerous awards for season.

Winning awards for the most improved were:

— Age 8-&-under: Erin Wiebe (16.67 seconds total improvement); Stephen Brazil (30.2);

— Age 9-10: Taylor Vogt (21.4); Brandon Rooker (39.48);

— Age 11-12: Tara Heinrichs (43.31); Luke Fischer (31.16);

— Age 13-14: Tiffany Rooker (28.0); Sam Bookless (25.3);

— Age 15-18: Jacquie Fisher (15.85); Matthew Brown (28.43).

Earning accolades for scoring the most points in their respective age divisions were:

— Age 8 & under: Maddie Duerksen and Graham Pankratz;

— Age 9-10: Taylor Thiessen and Shaq Thiessen;

— Age 11-12: Becky Faber and Ben Bebermeyer;

— Age 13-14: Aby Humber and Brandon McMillen;

— Age 15-18: Jacquie Fisher and John Vineski.

Earning “Most Valuable Volunteers” recognition were John Vineski and Robert Jost.

The Hillsboro swim team was coached by Matt Vogt and assistant coach Mary K. Humber.
