Graham, Schmidt wed in Newton

Brenda Graham and Van Schmidt, both of Newton, were married Nov. 21 in an evening ceremony at Tabor Mennonite Church in Newton, with pastor Corey Miller officiating.

Parents of the couple are C.H. and Sharon Gilges of Conway Springs and Jerol and DeLome Schmidt of Newton.

Flower girls were Layci Froese and Elizabeth Alderfer, nieces of the groom, and Lauren Swedberg, friend of the bride.

Ringbearers were Reece Hiebert and Kellen Froese, nephews of the groom. Ushers were Lee Hiebert, Dale Alderfer and Bill Froese, all brothers-in-law of the groom.

Musicians were DeVon Hiebert, sister of the groom, and Bill Froese, brother-in-law of the groom. Host and hostess were LaNae and Steve Unruh, cousins of the groom.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis with a small white Bible.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Tabor Mennonite Church fellowship hall. Reception assistants were Russell and Sandra Duerksen, cousins of the groom.

The couple honeymooned in Colorado.

The bride is a director of training at United Methodist Youthville in Newton.

The groom is self-employed as an auctioneer/realtor and farmer/ stockman in Newton.
