NOTICE OF CLOSING REGISTRATION BOOKS
Pursuant to the provision of K.S.A. 25-2311 (c), notice is hereby given that registration books will be closed for the General election as indicated in the schedule below:
1. Registration will close before the general election on March 21, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. or at the close of regular business hours, if late hours are not required as provided in K.S.A. 25-2311 (d) and remain closed until the day after the general election.
2. General election – April 5, 2005.
NOTICE OF PLACES AND DATES
In compliance with the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2310, notice is hereby given that the books for registration of voters will be open at the following places at the times specified:
DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS:
Citizen’s State Bank, Goessel
Community National Bank, Burns Branch, Burns
Central National Bank, Durham
Florence City Clerk’s Office, Florence
Hillsboro City Clerk’s Office, Hillsboro
Lehigh Post Office, Lehigh
Lost Springs Post Office, Lost Springs
Marion City Clerk’s Office, Marion
Peabody City Clerk’s Office, Peabody
Pilsen State Bank, Lincolnville
Ramona Post Office, Ramona
Tampa State Bank, Tampa
Veteran’s Administration, when scheduled in Marion County
Marion County Clerk’s Office, Courthouse, Marion
Pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2310, the books for the registration of voters will close for the general election at the close of regular business hours on the 21st day of March, 2005, and remain closed until the 6th day of April, 2005.
A citizen of the United States who is eighteen (18) years of age and upwards, or will have attained the age of eighteen (18) years at the next election, must register before he or she can vote. Registration closes fourteen (14) days prior to every election.
When a voter has been registered according to the law his or her registration shall continue to be valid until one of the following occurs:
(1) The voter changes name by marriage, divorce or legal proceedings.
(2) The voter changes residence.
If either of the above has occurred, you must reregister.
Any person may apply in person or by mail to the County Election Officer to be registered. Application forms shall be provided by the County Election Officer upon request in person or in writing by an individual applicant. Such application shall be signed by the applicant under penalty of perjury.
