Mohn, McKnight celebrate marriage

Jennifer Aileen Mohn and Justin Lee McKnight were married Jan. 1 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastor Jason Mohn, brother of the bride, officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gordon and Vicky Mohn of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of Lance and Jane McKnight of Tucson, Ariz.

Grandparents are Oliver and Marcella Mohn and Dollie Blomquist, all of Hillsboro; Mickey and Duffy McKnight of Prescott, Ariz.; and Al and Ruby Burgess of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Maid of honor was Melissa Brice of Dallas, friend of the bride. Best man was Brandon McKnight, brother of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Rachel Mohn of Hillsboro, sister-in-law of the bride; Amy Jordan and Julie Marsh, both of Hillsboro, and Rebecca Rhodes of Williamsville, Ill., all friends of the bride.

Flower girls were Kyra Mohn of Hillsboro and Avery Mohn of Spring Hill, both nieces of the bride.

Groomsmen were Neil Miller of Newburgh, Ind., and Vince Vigil, Ben Thomas and Matt Strong, Longmont, Colo.

Ring bearer was Karsten Mohn of Hillsboro, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were John Carver of Catlin, Ill., friend of the groom; Russell Haug and Ryan Haug, both of Jetmore and cousins of the bride; and Dylan Marcy of Ft. Collins, Colo., cousin of the groom.

Guestbook and gift attendants were Tiffany Haug of Jetmore, cousin of the bride, and Alexa Marcy of Ft. Collins, cousin of the groom.

Musicians were soloist Jeremy Mohn of Spring Hill, brother of the bride; vocalists Jeremy and Amy Jordan of Hillsboro, friends of the couple; pianists Luke Gray of Longmont, friend of the groom, and Karla Telganova of Hillsboro, friend of the bride; and guitarist Brandon McKnight.

The bride’s dress was made of candlelight silk satin and featured a layered bodice of beaded Venice lace and double-spaghetti straps. The back of the gown fell gracefully to a chapel-length train and was accented by handmade silk and chiffon flowers cascading down.

The bride’s hand-tied bouquet was nestled in tufts of fresh green hydrangea blossoms contrasted with green, yellow and pink hybrid roses and accented with springeri tied with an ivory bow.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Reception hosts were Bob and Karen Haug of Jetmore, aunt and uncle of the bride; Rich and Kara Bartow of Topeka, friends of the family; and Lyman and Marie Adams and Jane Long, all of Hillsboro and friends of the family.

The bride graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2001 and is a student at Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Ill.

The groom graduated in 2002 from Niwot High School in Niwot Colo., and plans to attend LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was Dec. 31 at Olde Town Restaurant in Hillsboro. A wedding brunch, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held Jan. 1 at Little Pleasures in Hillsboro.

Following a honeymoon to Estes Park, Colo., the couple resides in Lincoln.
