Schmidts mark 60th with open house
Randolph A. and Malinda (Reimer) Schmidt will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, in the fellowship hall of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel.
They were married Dec. 14, 1944, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.
After they were married, they operated the rural Newton family farm with Randoph’s parents for six years. They managed the Methodist Children Home Dairy for the next five years. Following the sale of the dairy, Randolph again joined the family farm, where he lived with his family, farmed and is now retired.
Malinda worked at Prairie View in Newton for 19 years and retired in 1990.
Hosting the open house are their children, Jolene Yoder and husband Allen of Hutchinson; Susan Ramberg and husband Frank of Forny, Texas; Dick R. Schmidt of rural Newton; and Leona Adrian and husband Byron of Wichita.
Family and friends are invited to the celebration, and the couple requests no gifts.
