The Warrior Classic turned out to be a sterling weekend for the women’s and men’s basketball teams from Tabor College as each team matched victories on Friday with another victory on Saturday.
The women led for most of the game on the way to a 64-52 win over Benedictine. Erica Hemmert paced the Bluejays with 18 points, Stacie Herman added 14 and Jill Hein 12.
The Tabor men saw a 14-point lead with six minutes to play fade to four points with two minutes to go before hanging on for a 83-76 victory.
Martin De Boer scored 13 points to pace the Bluejays, but right behind him were Scott Schaffer and Chris Metcalf with 12 each and Brad Gattis with 11.
