The Tabor College women’s basketball team hosted Baker University on Tuesday night and came away with their first win of the season, downing Baker 65-59

Tabor trailed early in the game, 20-9 but used a 15-4 run to tie the game at 24, and eventually lead 36-33 at halftime on a 3-point shot at the buzzer from freshman Stacie Herman.

The second half was relatively close until Tabor stretched its lead to 61-50 with just over two minutes to play.

A late rally by Baker cut the margin to four points but two free throws by Jill Hein iced the game for the Bluejays.

Hein and Katie Fast both scored 13 points to pace Tabor while Erica Hemmert added 12 and Nicole Ellis chipped in 10 points to lead the Bluejays to their first win of the season after two losses.
