Dame, Young wed in Wichita

Tanya Dame and Eric Young, both of Wichita, were married Aug. 27 at First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita with pastor Bob Beckler of Central Community Church officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Herman and Jan Franz, and the groom is the son of Jack and Gwen Young, all of Wichita.

Grandparents are Lovisa Duerksen of Hillsboro and Helen Rose of Wichita.

Maid of honor was L.K. Dorsey of Westminister, Colo., friend of the bride. Best man was Bryon Barrenitz of Wichita, friend of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Erica May of Kansas City, Mo., friend of the bride and Tricia Unruh of Wichita, sister of the bride.

Flower girls were Natalie Schrandt and Brihanna Hultgren, both friends of the bride.

Groomsmen were Jim Stotler and Paul Rednour, both friends of the couple.

Ushers were Robert Franz, brother of the bride, and Larry Clark, friend of the couple.

Gift carriers were Logan Duerksen, cousin of the bride; Jerica Stotler and Kaitlin Parks, both friends of the couple; and Bayleigh Hultgren, friend of the bride.

Musicians were Rob and Denise Simon, both friends of the bride.

The bride wore a floor-length gown with a long train. The gown featured beaded-lace overlay on the bodice with short-lace sleeves and a round neck. The fingertip veil was attached to a comb covered with roses and beads designed and made by the bride.

The bride’s bouquet featured red roses and white alstiomeria.

The church was decorated with large arrangements of purple gerbera daisies, white lilies and red geraniums.

The reception was held at the church following the ceremony. Reception hosts were Frank and Lila Hall, David Westermann and Tammy Coslett.

Reception assistants were Kim Tessier, Cheri Clark and Jan Nuckolls, all friends of the couple; and Deborah Franz, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bride graduated from North High School in Wichita and attended Pittsburg State University. She is self-employed with Sonshine Cleaning in Wichita.

The groom graduated from Central Christian High School in Hutchinson and is co-owner of Lobos Sports Cards in Wichita.

The rehearsal dinner was held Aug. 26 in the Fireside Room at the church. Hosts were the groom’s parents, and the meal was served by John Young, brother of the groom, and Theresa Harrison, friend of the couple.

Following a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Wichita.

Mays, Blough celebrate wedding

Diane Mays and Jonathan Blough were married Oct. 2 at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church in Enid, Okla., with pastor Al McVety officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Rosalie Mays of Enid. The groom is the son of Jay and Mary Blough of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Grandparents are Allen and Esther Mays of Enid, the late Edwin and Margaret Epp, Wilma Epp of Whitewater, the late Samuel and Viola Ramer, and the late Alvin and Gertrude Blough.

Bridal attendants were Kathryn Glanzer, Sara Cook and Loretta Lee.

Groom attendants were Tyler Pertree, Mike Fisher and Justin Blough.

Ushers were David Mays, Jason Blough, Cliff Schenk and Brian Goentzel.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Oklahoma Bible Academy and graduated in 2000 from Tabor College. She is employed with Somers, Robb & Robb in Newton.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Christian Heritage Academy and graduated in 2002 from Tabor College. He is network administrator for Valley Center Public Schools.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple lives in Newton.
