Schmidts celebrate

50th anniversary

Arlo and Darlene (Reimer) Schmidt will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 17, in the fellowship hall at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, located near Goessel.

A short program will be presented at 3 p.m. An open house and reception will follow and will be hosted by the couple’s children, spouses and three grandchildren.

The couple was married Oct. 14, 1954, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. They have been engaged in livestock and grain farming. Arlo was employed at Hay and Forage in Hesston for 38 years. Darlene is a homemaker and worked in the dietary program at Bethesda Home in Goessel for 20 years.

Their children are three sons, David Schmidt and wife Anne of Wichita, Robbie Schmidt and wife Ruth of Willard, Mo., and Greg Schmidt and wife La Donna of Newton; and one daughter, the late Kristi Detweiler.

Friends and family are invited to the celebration, and the Schmidts request no gifts.
