Marjorie Sue Black, 65

Marjorie Sue Black, 65, cosmetologist, died Sept. 7 in her home in Florence.

The funeral was held as a double service with deceased great-granddaughter Gabrielle Black on Sept. 11 at Florence United Methodist Church. Pastor Bill Dyar officiated. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

She was born Dec. 23, 1938, to William and Ethel (Anderson) Ellis in Jacket, Mo. On Aug. 14, 1955, she was married to Edward C. Black, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Anita Armstrong of Florence and Loretta Looney of Marion; one brother, Leonard Ellis of Florence; two sisters, Shirley Jones of Frankfort and Virginia Dodge; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Florence Ambulance Service.

Gabrielle Black, infant

Gabrielle Gene Black, 16 days, died Sept. 8 at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

The funeral was held as a double service with deceased great-grandmother Marjorie Sue Black on Sept. 11 at Florence United Methodist Church. Pastor Bill Dyar officiated. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

She was born Aug. 22 to Shawn Edward and Cynthia Gene (Ellis) Black.

She is survived by one brother, Julio Vizcarra; and two sisters, Desiree Vizcarra and Cattie Black.

A memorial has been established with the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City, Mo.

Levi Troy Daniels, 15

Levi Troy Daniels, 15, Hesston High School sophomore, died Sept. 5 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The funeral was Sept. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Canton with pastor Allen Woelzlein officiating. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

He was born April 4, 1989, to Jerry E. and LeeAnn Sue (Heim) Daniels in Chanute.

He is survived by his father and step-mother Dena Daniels of Gypsum; his mother of Hesston; one brother, Cody Daniels of Hesston; two step-brothers, Nicholas and Andrew Keazer of Gypsum; grandparents Sandy and Tom Hildinger and Garry and Debby Daniels, all of Humboldt, and Larry and Lana Heim of Canton; great-grandparents Lloyd and Joyce Rasmussen of Federal Heights, Colo., and Norma Daniels of Humboldt; and many other relatives.

Memorials have been established with Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Hesston High School football team stereo system.

Vicki L. Goertzen, 46

Vicki L. Goertzen, 46, cook, died Sept. 10 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

The memorial service was Sept. 13 at Tabor Mennonite Church near Goessel with pastor Corey Miller officiating. The graveside service and burial was at Tabor Cemetery near Goessel.

She was born Dec. 31, 1957, to Franklin and Eleanora (Unruh) Goertzen in Newton.

She is survived by her mother of Goessel; one brother, David Goertzen of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and one sister, Patty Seibel of Silver Spring, Md.

A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home.

Pearl C. McClure, 90

Pearl C. McClure, 90, retired school lunch-room supervisor for the Osborne School District, died Sept. 6 in Osborne.

The funeral was Sept. 9 at Clark-Gashaw Mortuary in Osborne with pastor Ruth Ann Jones officiating. Burial was at Gaylord Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 4, 1913, to Earl and Ola (Legg) Hagadorn in Gaylord. On July 17, 1938, she was married to John Warren McClure, who predeceased her in 1980.

She is survived by one son, Jay McClure and wife Cathy of Marion; one daughter, Linda Streit and husband Ben of Tipton; one sister, Velma Coleman of Muncie, Ind.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society, United Christian Church of Osborne and United Church of Christ of Gaylord.

Anna Nachtigall, 94

Anna Voth Nachtigall, 94, farm wife and homemaker, died Aug. 16 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora, Neb.

The funeral was Aug. 21 in Aurora.

She was born July 18, 1910, to John and Katherine (Sperling) Voth in Enid, Okla. On Feb. 8, 1931, she married Andy Nachtigall, who predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Thiessen and husband Melvin of Fresno, Calif., and LuElla Janzen and husband Marlin of Hillsboro; two sons, Harold Nachtigall and wife Eunice of Aurora and Dean Nachtigall and wife Carol of York, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Connelly of Salem, Ore., and many brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Memorials have been established with Parkside Homes Inc. and Tabor College Scholarship Fund.

Eldon R. Nelson, 80

Eldon R. Nelson, 80, retired dairy farmer, died Sept. 11 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at United Methodist Church in Burdick.

He was born Sept. 9, 1924, to John W. and Minerva A. (Peterson) Nelson in Lost Springs. On Aug. 17, 1951, he was married to Isla Rose Lindberg, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Donna Hanneman and husband Steve of Peabody; two sons, Stanley J. Nelson and wife Joyce of Marysville and Gary Nelson and wife Linda of Lenexa; and four grandchildren.
