Nelson, Steiner celebrate marriage
Heather Renee Nelson and Kelly Frances Steiner, both of Pilsen, were married May 8 at Christian Church in Marion with pastor Jim Pohlman officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Penny Nelson of White City. The groom is the son of Connie and Daryl Brooks of Marion and the late Ken Steiner.
Matron of honor was Teresa Gast of Flowermound, Texas, sister of the bride. Best man was Kevin Steiner of McPherson, brother of the groom.
The bride’s attendants were Susan Pender of Junction City, cousin of the bride and Michelle Kickhaefer of White City, friend of the bride. Honorary bridesmaid was Megan Lewis of Chapman, friend of the bride.
Flowergirl was Reilley Gast of Flowermound, niece of the bride.
Groomsmen were Shane Svitak of Lincolnville and Nick Evancho of Wichita, both friends of the groom.
Ring bearer was Cody Gast of Flowermound, nephew of the bride.
Ushers were Damien Svitak of Lincolnville and Ben Dalke of Hillsboro, both friends of the groom.
Given away in marriage by her father, the bride wore a two-piece off-white dress with beading and sequins on the bodice. She carried a bouquet of Gerbera daisies.
A reception following the ceremony was held at Pilsen Community Center.
The bride is a graduate of White City High School and has earned a degree in sociology from Kansas State University. She is employed as case manager at Prairie View in Marion.
The groom is a graduate of Centre High School and earned a degree in education from McPherson College. He is employed as an English teacher at Hope High School.
The couple will reside in Pilsen.
