Claassen, Walker celebrate marriage

Angela Claassen and Benjamin Walker, both of Hillsboro, were married June 13 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church with pastors Tim Sullivan and Roy Keller officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Janice Claassen, and the groom is the son of Gregg and Betsy Walker, all of Hillsboro.

Grandparents are Roy and Jean Keller of Hillsboro, the late Louis and Dorothy Claassen, Helen and Louis Almond of Pennsylvania and the late Louis and Irene Walker.

Matron of honor and wedding coordinator was Ashley Enns, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Elizabeth Rue, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Jimmy Galliardt, friend of the groom. Serving as the groom’s woman was Sara Whorton, sister of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Laci Vogt and Karis Jost, friends of the bride; and Alysha Claassen, Jayme Claassen and Lottie Alonzo, sisters of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Ruthie Walker, sister of the groom.

Flower girls were Katie Claassen, sister of the bride; and Naomi and Rebekah Walker, sisters of the groom.

Groomsmen were Matt Vogt, Jerod Metcalf, Derek Conrad and Dustin Hendricks, friends of the groom; and David Enns, brother-in-law of the bride. Junior groomsman was Peter Walker, brother of the groom.

Ring bearer was Peter Claassen, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Mike Snowbarger and Dan Claassen, both uncles of the bride; David Enns, brother-in-law of the bride; and Pat Keller, cousin of the bride.

Bridal and guestbook attendants were Melanie Wiebe and Candace Barkman, friends of the bride.

Musicians were organist and pianist Bev and Lonn Richards, pianist Stephen Rue, saxophonist and clarinetist Gregg Walker, trumpeter Randy Claassen and vocalists Rob and Tracy Keller.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white Mori Lee wedding gown with Camelot sleeves. The gown featured embroidered bands trimming the scoop neckline and contoured empire seam of the bodice.The hemline band framed the princess-line gown and cascaded down onto the chapel-length train.

The couple graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2003.

The bride attended Hesston College and is enrolled in the respiratory-therapy program at LaBette Community College in Parsons. The groom is studying psychology at LaBette.

Following a honeymoon in Arkansas, the couple resides in Parsons.
