Irma DeBard, 92

Irma DeBard, 92, died July 13 in Dallas.

The graveside service was July 15 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.

She was born Sept. 3, 1911, into the Jacob Penner family in Hillsboro. She was married to Alfred DeBard Jr., who predeceased her.

She is survived by one son, Mahlon DeBard and wife Colleen; one daughter, Marcia Windham and husband Jim; one sister, Ruth Schroeder; one brother, Harold Penner; one brother-in-law, Ray LaPlante; and two grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation, 2824 Swiss Ave., Dallas, TX 75204.

Evelyn M. Deines, 91

Evelyn M. Deines, 91, clerk and typist for the local SRS office, died July 15 at Marion Manor.

The service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Church, in Marion with Father Steve Gronert officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

She was born Sept. 13, 1912, to Paul and Julia Lespagnard Rosiere in Marion County. On Jan. 8, 1940, she was married to Rudy Deines, predeceased in 1966.

She is survived by a son, Leland Deines of Wichita; a daughter, Maurita Lymer of Kingsland, Ark.; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established with Central Homecare and Hospice.

Ralph Estelle II, 52

Ralph Royal Estelle II, 52, photographer and published poet, died July 10 in a vehicle accident north of Elk Horn, Iowa.

The funeral was July 14 in Kimballton, Iowa, with pastor Larry Lystig officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Candor, N.Y.

He was born Feb. 4, 1952, to Clarence Franklin and Eleanor Lillian (Thompson) Estelle in Lyons, N.Y. On June 8, 1980, he was married to Rita Jost, and the couple divorced in 1986.

He is survived by two daughters, Bailey Estelle and Shelby Estelle, both of Hillsboro; one sister, Lynne Yauchler of LaValle, Wis.; two brothers, Craig Estelle and wife Marlene of South Montrose, Pa., and Scott Estelle and wife Dana of Weedsport, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mable Steiner, 77

Mable Steiner, 77, homemaker, died July 15 in Hillsboro.

The funeral was July 19 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with Father Steven Gronert officiating. Burial was at Pilsen Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 12, 1926, to Nick and Mary (Morrison) Rayon in Glade, Ark. On April 27, 1953, she was married to Hubert Steiner, who predeceased her in 1981. A son, Kenneth, also predeceased her.

She is survived by one son, Myron Steiner of McPherson; three daughters, Gwen Johnson of Wichita, Glenda Stoppel of Hillsboro and Ginger Steiner of Emporia; one sister, Florence Shumaker of Golden, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the Alzheimer’s Disease Association and the Hillsboro Community Medical Center Alzheimer’s Unit, both in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.

Richard J. Walsh, 70

Richard J. Walsh, 70, U.S. Army veteran and farmer/stockman, died July 16 in Gove County Medical Center in Quinter.

The funeral was held Tuesday, July 20, at the First United Methodist Church of WaKeeney, with pastor Randy Jellison-Knock and Father Basil Torrez officiating. Interment was in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 26, 1934, to William Douglas and Marie Elizabeth (Miller) Walsh at Hays. On July 14, 1957, he was married to Lorrine Kerth, who survives.

He is also survived by a son, William Douglas and wife Carrie of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Rebecca Evans and husband Gary of Marion, and Tamara Quick and husband Monte of Larned; two sisters, Margaret Herl of Collyer and Janet Ridgway of Claremont, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, M.D. Anderson Brain Cancer Research or Gove County Medical Center, in care of the funeral home.
