Schroeders celebrate

60th anniversary

Irvin D. and Mildred (Regier) Schroeder of Hillsboro, formerly of Hutchinson, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with their immediate family on June 13 at the Brookville Restaurant in Abilene.

The couple were married June 11, 1944, at the Hebron Mennonite Church in Buhler. The Schroeders have been in the automobile business in Hillsboro for more than 42 years.

Hosts are their children, son Bruce Schroeder and wife Jan, grandson Ross Schroeder of Hillsboro, and daughter Beverly Schroeder of Hutchinson and children Joshua and Rachel Plenert of McPherson, and daughter Katie Plenert of Wichita, also a foster son, Audrey Ivanoff, of Phoenix.

Janzens mark 40th

with family

Ralph and Charlene Janzen of Hillsboro will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on June 14.

To celebrate the occasion, their children, Raymond and Anne Janzen of Hillsboro, Kenneth and Val Janzen of Hesston and Corey and Julie Janzen of Goessel and grandchildren will host a family dinner in Smolan.

Card shower request

for Gutsches 50th

The children of Charles and Darlene (Richmond) Gutsch request a card shower to celebrate the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary on June 13.

The couple were married June 13, 1954, at Valley United Methodist Church of Marion and have lived on a farm west of Burdick.

Charles graduated from Wichita State University. After being employed briefly as an accountant in Wichita, he returned to farming.

Darlene worked for 17 years as the office manager of Paragon Products, a baby-clothes factory in Herington. She also worked at the Marion County FSA Office and Cady Insurance Agency in Marion. The couple are retired.

Their children are Perry Gutsch and wife Amy of Herington and Gayla Deines and husband Jeff of Ramona. They have five grandchildren, Anthony and Whitney Gutsch and Jessica, Shelby and Justin Deines.

Dukes to celebrate

50th anniversary

Gene and Shirley (Smith) Duke of Durham will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 20, at the Durham Senior Center.

The couple were married June 18, 1954 at the home of Dean and Joyce Duke in Hillsboro.

They have one son, Terry Duke, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and two grandchildren of Arvada, Colo.

Shirley graduated from Marion High School in 1954, and Gene graduated from Durham High School in 1952. After briefly living in Wichita, the couple moved to the Denver area and lived there until 1999, when they both retired as employees with the Boulder Valley School District of Colorado.

They now live in Durham and spend their winters in South Texas.

The couple requests no gifts.
