Earl Ewert, 86





Earl Ewert, 86, formerly employed at Associated Milk Producers Incorporated, died May 24 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

The funeral was May 27 at Trinity Mennonite Church of Hillsboro with pastor Tim Kliewer officiating. The burial was at Johannestal Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

He was born June 29, 1917, to Jacob and Minnie (Goertz) Ewert in Marion County. On Jan. 21, 1949, he was married to Deltha Base, who predeceased him in 1968.

He is survived by three sons, Morris Ewert and wife Linda of Wichita, Harris Ewert and wife Debbie of rural Hillsboro and Tyler Ewert and wife Diane of Wichita; one daughter, Roxann Ewert of Hillsboro; one brother, Ben Ewert of Hillsboro; one sister, Arpa Ewert of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Trinity Mennonite Church.

Ida K. Martin, 97



Ida Katherine Martin, 97, homemaker, died May 26 at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home in Canton.

The graveside service was held May 29 at Canton Township Cemetery with pastor Jack Smith officiating.

She was born March 9, 1907, to Mack and Lena C. (Borger) Wilkinson in rural Greenwood County. On Sept. 12, 1931, she was married to Marshall Wesley Martin, who predeceased her in 1964.

She is survived by one son, John Martin of Canton; two daughters, Edith Martin of Salina and Carolyn Embers of Hutchinson; one sister, Laura Smith of Abilene; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the Canton Senior Center and Shiloh Manor Nursing Home.


Lucille E. Ratzlaff, 95





Lucille E. Ratzlaff, 95, homemaker, died May 25 in Hillsboro.

The graveside service and burial was May 28 at Johannestal Cemetery in rural Hillsboro with pastor Tim Kliewer officiating.

She was born Aug. 27, 1908, to Benjamin A. and Mary Minnie (Dirks) Unruh in Stafford County.

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Bartel of Lehigh and LaVina Saltz of Wichita; grandchildren Michael and Melody Ewert and Patrice and Ron McHenry, all of Wichita; and great-grandchildren Mindy Ewert, Megan Ewert, Reece McHenry and Aaron McHenry.

A memorial has been established with Trinity Mennonite Church.
