W. Ben Course





A graveside service with military honors for W. Ben Course will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 29, at Marion Cemetery.

Following the graveside service, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Marion Presbyterian Church. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow the memorial service.

He is survived by wife Jane (Socolofsky) Course.


Arthur Flaming, 87





Arthur H. Flaming, 87, pastor, died May 17 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The funeral was May 21 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.

He was born June 2, 1916, to Peter and Justina (Wall) Flaming in Mountain Lake, Minn. On Oct. 3, 1939, he was married to Linda Ann Claassen, who predeceased him in 2000.

He is survived by two sons, Dale Flaming and wife Priscilla of San Francisco and Paul Flaming and wife Beatrice of Minneapolis; two daughters, Ruth Klaassen and husband David of Minneapolis and Beth Olson and husband Kevin of St. Louis; one step-brother, Robert Franz; three step-sisters, Marie Jost and husband Harold, Rubena Suderman and husband Les and Margaret Ratzlaff and husband Paul; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial has been established with Tabor College of Hillsboro.

Sarah Gaede, 98





Sarah Gaede, 98, retired receptionist with a Los Angeles drug store, died May 23 at Parkside Homes.

The graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.

She is survived by two nephews, Raymond Just and wife Marge of Hillsboro and Johnnie Ratzlaff and wife Doris of Newton.
