Hillsboro residents run in marathon

Five Hillsboro residents competed in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon on April 25.

Among the 1,476 race finishers were Todd Lehman, Glen Kliewer, Randy Wiens, Beth Schobert and Matthew Krebs, all of Hillsboro.

The 26.2-mile course was covered by 957 men and 519 women in an average time of 4 hours 35 minutes 59 seconds.

Lehman finished 31st overall and third in the men’s 25-29 age group. A former Boston Marathon qualifier, Lehman covered the course in 3:09.43.

Kliewer, running in the 45-49 age group, finished 537th overall and 30th in his age group with a time of 4:11.36 while. Wiens finished 642nd overall and 97th in the 50-54 age group in 4:20.30.

Schobert, running in the women’s 25-29 age group, finished 828th overall and 34th in her age group in 4:33.46 and Krebs was 829th overall and 46th in the 35-39 age group with a time of 4:33.46.

This was the first marathon for Kliewer, Schobert and Krebs.
