Tabor tennis team ends season at KCAC tourney

The Tabor tennis team saw its season come to an end over the weekend as it lost in the semifinals of the KCAC post-season tournament to Friends, 5-0.

Earlier in the day, Tabor had defeated Bethel, 6-1.

“We were able to get a convincing win over Bethel in the first round and thought this momentum might carry over to our match with Friends,” coach Lonnie Isaac said.

“We started well in all three doubles matches but couldn’t sustain any consistency.

“All in all it was a good year,” Isaac said. “We were able to have a winning record in conference and finished in third place. We didn’t make it to regionals as we had hoped, but the players competed hard all year.”

The KCAC all-conference team was announced over the weekend. Both Scott Friesen and Jon Adrian of Tabor earned second-team All-KCAC honors.
