Walkers to celebrate 50th anniversary

Jo and Duane Walker of Canton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at the McPherson County Fairgrounds located 1/4 mile north on Main Street, Canton.

Duane Walker and the former Jo Janssen were married April 10, 1954, in Lyons. They lived in Ellsworth from 1954 to 1958, then moved to Canton, where Duane managed the Canton elevator for more than 40 years. The Walkers own and operate the Tee Jay Quarter Horse Ranch in Canton.

Reception hosts will be the couple’s children and their spouses: Tim and Kris Walker of Mansfield, Texas; Kathy and Alan Prieb of Canton; Cindy Monts of Norfolk, Va.; and Dennis Walker of New York.

The Walkers have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

All friends and relatives are invited to the celebration, and the couple request no gifts.
