Clarence Domke, 85

Clarence Domke, 85, died March 6 in Genoa City, Wis.

In honor of the four years he served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II, a graveside military memorial will be held at a later date.

He was born Sept. 11, 1921, to Paul and Ida Domke in Hillsboro. On March 21, 1945, he was married to Irma Engles, who predeceased him.

He is survived by one son, two daughters, sister Hilda Seifert of Marion and two grandchildren.

Beatrice J. Mizell, 69

Beatrice J. Mizell, 69, retired secretary, died Feb. 26 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

A memorial service was held March 13 at Olson’s Mortuary in Canton with pastor Jack Smith officiating. The family chose to have a private inurnment.

She was born Nov. 27, 1935, to Henry H. and Virginia (Flory) Wempen in Argonia. She was married to John Adams Mizell, who predeceased her.

She is survived by her mother of Wellington; one son, Jack Mizell of Galva; one daughter, Barbara Hatfield of Mount Calm, Texas; one brother, Stanton Wempen of Wichita; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established at the Beatrice J. Mizell Memorial Fund in care of Olson’s Mortuary.
