Tabor College began their quest for the KCAC post-season tournament title with a convincing 79-58 win over the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes.

Tabor led by just five at halftime, 33-28 before unleashing their long range arsenal on the Coyotes midway through the second half.

The Bluejays converted a three point 39-36 lead with 16:31 to play in the game, into a 17 point lead at 59-42 at the 8:30 mark.

Brad Gattis, Jared Reese, and Tyson Ratzlaff all threw in 3-point bombs to distance Tabor from their competition.

Tabor was never threatened the rest of the way in their 79-58 victory.

As usual, balanced scoring was the theme for Tabor as Gattis led the way with 16, but four other players reached double figure scoring, as Reese scored 12, Anthony Monson 11, and Colby Bettles and Cody Schafer both 10.

Tabor hit 60 percent (12-20) of their second half shots on their way to an overall percentage of 52 for the contest.

Tim Melton led the Coyotes with 17.

With the win, Tabor improves its record to 15-14, the first time they’ve been over .500 this season, and moves on to the semi-finals against the Friends-Bethel winner at Hillsboro at 7:00 this Saturday.
