Tina Olsen and Justin Groening were married Nov. 1 at Strassburg Baptist Church in Marion with pastors Kevin Goertzen and Don Mashburn officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Russel and Debra Schroeder of Goessel. The groom is the son of Jerry and Sherri Groening of Marion.

Maid of honor was Diana Koslowsky of Hillsboro, friend of the couple. Best man was Ross Groening of Marion, brother of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Brenda Bernhardt and Traci Helmer, both friends of the couple, and Jami Helmer, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Alli and Tori Boyd, daughters of the bride.

Groomsmen were Kelly Bernhardt, Aaron Helmer and Jason Kruse, all of Marion and friends of the couple. Ringbearer was Brody Schroeder of Goessel, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were Jeremy Schroeder, brother of the bride, and Ray Helmer, brother-in-law of the groom.

Music was provided by vocalist Jake Schmidt of Buhler.

Escorted by her father and her son, Colton Olsen, the bride wore an ivory-satin A-line gown with beaded bands at the neckline, spaghetti straps and a detachable train. She carried a bouquet of ivory and purple roses.

The church was decorated in a country motif with raffia bows, grapevine wreaths and arrangements using the couple’s cowboy hats surrounded by ivory and purple roses.

The reception, a dance and barbecue, followed the ceremony and was held in the Pilsen Activity Center.

Hosts were Gordon and Shirley Groening, Kathy Schmidt and Vince Schroeder, all aunts and uncles of the couple.

Reception assistants were Becky Keely, Melanie Criqui and Ruby Kruse, all friends of the couple, and Misty Hett, cousin of the bride.

The bride graduated from Goessel High School in 1992 and attended Hutchinson Community College. She is employed in advertising design and sales with the Hillsboro Free Press.

The groom graduated from Marion High School in 1994, attended Tabor College and graduated from Garden City Community College in 1997. He is employed as a service technician with Deer Trail Implement Inc. in Marion.

The rehearsal dinner was held on Oct. 31 in the Strassburg Baptist Church basement. A meal was prepared and served by the groom’s family.

Following a honeymoon in New Orleans and Galveston, Texas, the couple resides in Marion.
