Tabor men and women get back on winning track

The Tabor women built a 35-19 halftime lead and withstood a Saint Mary comeback in the second half and eventually defeated the Spires 71-58.



Tabor was led in scoring by Erica Hemmert with 22 points on seven of 10 shooting from the field and a perfect seven of seven from the charity stripe.



Jill Hein added 13 points and Angela Kroeker contributed 10 in the Tabor victory.



With the win, the Bluejays move their overall record to 9-9 overall and 3-5 in the KCAC.



The Tabor men had little trouble with the young Spires, racing to a commanding 45-18 halftime advantage and never looked back in their 72-45 win.



Jared Reese led a balanced scoring attack for Tabor with 16 points while Jeremiah Randall had 11 and both Tyson Ratzlaff and Anthony Monson added 10.



Tabor connected on 60 percent of their 25 first half field goal attempts and forced 19 first half turnovers for the Spires who started three freshmen and two sophomores.



With the win, the Bluejays improve their record to 6-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play.



Next up for Tabor will be a road trip to Wichita to battle the Falcons of Friends on Thursday night.
