to wed June 26

Robert and Shirley Unruh of Durham announce the engagement of their daughter, Robyn Elizabeth Unruh to Brian David Pekarek, son of Franklyn and Shirley Pekarek of Kensington.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Hillsboro High school. She earned a degree in elementary education and a graduate degree in special education from Kansas State University. She is employed as an elementary special-education teacher in Spring Hill.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Abilene High School. He earned a degree in history from Fort Hays State University and a graduate degree in school counseling from Kansas State University. He is a graduate teaching assistant in the education department at the University of Kansas.

The couple will be married June 26 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Moore, Svoboda

to marry April 4

Patrick and Jandee Moore of Marion, John Svoboda of Lincolnville and Mary Svoboda of Dighton announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Amber Noel Moore and Thomas John Svoboda, both of Herington.

The bride-elect graduated from Marion High School. She earned a degree in family studies human services from Kansas State University in 2003 and is employed as a community case manager at Prairie View Mental Health Center in Marion.

The groom-to-be graduated from Dighton High School. He earned a degree in veterinary medicine from Kansas State University in 2000 and has a large-animal mobile veterinary practice in Herington.

The couple plans an outdoor wedding on April 24 at the home of the bride’s parents.
