Eight inducted into National Honor Society

Hillsboro High School held its induction ceremony for the Trojan Chapter of the National Honor Society at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1.

Eight students were inducted this year. They were Gina Andrews, Katie Baltzer, Marissa Diener, Sara Hamm, Kelsey Kaufman, Caleb Marsh, Emily Railsback and Emily Ratzlaff.

The induction is an annual 30-minute candle-lit ceremony conducted at the Tabor Historic Church.

To be eligible for membership, students must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.70.

Meeting these criteria, candidates are then evaluated on the high standards of character, leadership and service.

Those students who were inducted last year and are presently active members of the National Honor Society are: Katie Fast, Jared Fish, Danielle Goossen, Kelli Just, Allison Kunkel and Aaron Miller.

Terry Bebermeyer is the advisor for the local chapter of the National Honor Society.
