Tabor defeats Southwestern

Tabor College improved their record to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the KCAC with a 35-28 win over the Southwestern Moundbuilders in Winfield Saturday.



Quarterback Ricky Ishida connected on 16 of 23 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns as the Bluejays rolled up 463 yards of total offense.



Tyson Ratzlaff had touchdown grabs of 5 and 22 yards and Mike Beach scurried 48 yards for the other touchdown pass.



Tabor led 21-14 at halftime and 35-21 after three quarters.



Jake Schenk led the Tabor defense recording 18 tackles from his linebacking postion, as the Bluejays limited Southwestern to 310 yards of total offense.



With the win, the Bluejays established a new school record for victories in a single season, and beat the Moundbuilders for the first time since 1980.



Tabor will travel to McPherson next Saturday for a 1:30 matchup with the Bulldogs, in the last regularly scheduled game of the season.
