Tabor College dropped their first game of the season to the Ottawa Braves by a score of 27-3.

Tabor fell victim to three fumbles and two interceptions, while the Braves failed to turn the ball over.

Running back Derrick Ward carried the ball 36 times for 231 yards and scored all four Ottawa touchdowns to lead the Braves effort.

Tabor trailed 7-0 at halftime, but a fumble on their own 2-yard line beginning the third quarter propelled Ottawa to a 14-0 lead, and the Bluejays never recovered.

Tabor gained 348 yards of total offense to just 386 for Ottawa, but the Bluejays inability to hold on to the ball doomed Tabor to their first loss of the season.

With the loss, Tabor falls to 7-1 overall and 6-1 in KCAC play. Ottawa improves to 7-0 in conference play and 7-1 overall.

Next up for the Bluejays will be a road trip to Winfield, to battle the Moundbuilders of Southwestern next Saturday at 1:30.
