Warriors clinch District title

The Marion Warriors wrapped up the district title with a 41-14 victory over the Eureka Tornadoes in action Thursday night.



Steven Boone scored on runs of one and three yards while Casey Nelson also scored twice on runs of five and three yards for the Warriors as they built a 21-7 halftime lead.



Dallas Wells blocked punt in the first half was recovered by Calvin Riggs, who returned the ball for a 30 yard touchdown.



Russell Ploutz scored his first varsity touchdown on a three yard run in the fourth quarter for Marion.



With the win, the Warriors improve to 8-1 and earned the right to host Medicine Lodge next Tuesday night, with game time scheduled for 6:00.
