Brett Cushenbery, 21

Brett Alan Cushenbery, 21, construction worker, died Oct. 14 at Hutchinson Hospital.

The funeral was Oct. 18 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastors Ralph Barclay and Curtis Wiens officiating. Burial was at Durham Park Cemetery in rural Durham.

He was born Jan. 11, 1982, to Larry J. and Yvonne (West) Cushenbery in Wichita.

He is survived by his mother and father of Tampa; brother Chad Cushenbery, wife Danyelle and their daughter Hannah of Wichita; grandparents John and Laveta Cushenbery of Wichita and Eugene and Wanda West of Durham; great-grandmothers Sylva Miller and Elsie Lasiter; aunts and uncles, Greg and Debbie Allison and Gene Jr. and Lori West, all of Wichita, and Dirk and Julie Cushenbery of Louisiana; and cousins Chris Borchers, Jason West, Lisa West, Ian Allison and Kyle Allison.

A memorial was established with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys.

Elmer Schroeder, 85

Elmer K. Schroeder, 85, retired dentist, died Oct. 13 in Wichita.

The funeral was Oct. 16 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion with pastors John Goering, Rick Branson and Robert Priest officiating. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born May 9, 1918, to John and Susie (Klassen) Schroeder in rural Lehigh. On April 9, 1943, he was married to Ruby Richert, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Dennis and Edsel Schroeder, both of Marion and one sister, Rachel Gregory of Wichita.

A memorial has been established with Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
