The 14th ranked Tabor Bluejays moved their record to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in KCAC play with a grueling 47-35 win over the Friends Falcons in the 2003 Homecoming game.
Tabor jumped out to a 28-7 half time lead on the strength of two Tyson Ratzlaff touchdown receptions of 32 and 15 yards.
But Friends hung around and actually grabbed a 35-34 lead with just 6:26 to play in the game.
Dwayne Cleaves, who finished the day with 168 yards on 23 carries, then hoisted the Tabor offense on his shoulders and scored two touchdowns in the final four minutes of play to preserve the Tabor victory.
The two teams combined for 891 yards of total offense with Tabor racking up 488.
Ratzlaff took up the receiving slack in the absence of injured Tyler Marsh to grab eight passes for 165 yards.
The Bluejays travel to Leavenworth next Saturday to battle the University of Saint Mary Spires, in a game scheduled to begin at 1:30.
