Kathryn Sue Vantuyl and Anthony Joseph Works were marreid May 31 at the United Methodist Chruch in Humboldt with pastor Don Flanner performing the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mary O’Dell of Florence and the late Larry Vantuyl. The groom is the son of Joe and Janie Works of Humboldt.

Special guests attending were Maxine Wollen of Ottawa and Jane Works of Humboldt, both grandmothers of the groom.

Bride’s attendants were Lori Kelsey of Marquette, Diane Hett of Marion and Jennifer Hesseltine of Stilwell, all sisters of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Emily Hett and Vanessa Vantuyl, both nieces of the bride.

Flower girls were Brooke Hesseltine and Samantha Kelsey, both nieces of the bride and Britnee Works, niece of the groom.

Groom’s attendants were James Works of Humboldt and Joshua Works of Manhattan, both brothers of the groom; and Elizabeth Barlow of Trenton, Fla., sister of the groom. Ringbearer was Seth Barlow, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Michael Vantuyl, Mathew Vantuyl and Jerry Kelsey, nephews of the bride.

Candlelighters were Andrew Kelsey and Ethan Hett, nephews of the bride.

A reception was held at the North Community Building in Iola. Reception coordinators were Dick and Karen Works of Humboldt and Fred and Judy Works of Iola. Reception hosts were Paolo and LoEtta Bowyer, Chris and Terry Butts and David and Terry Broyles.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Maron High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas. She is employed as a registered nurse at St.Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of Humboldt High School and a 1998 graduate of Kansas State University. He is pursuing his juris doctorate at the University of Kansas School of Law.

Following a honeymoon at the island of St. Lucia, the couple resides in Lenexa.
