Tabor College’s Bible Conference 2003 will feature guest speaker Michele Hershberger of Hesston College.
“The Biblical Jesus vs. The Cultural Jesus” will be the theme of the conference, Sept. 14-15.
The first session, “The Biblical Jesus and Salvation: Luke 8:40-56,” will be held at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.
The second session, “The Biblical Jesus and Justice: Mark 2: 1-12,” will be held in the Tabor Chapel-Auditorium on Monday, Sept. 15, at 9:30 a.m.
Hershberger will conclude the conference with “The Biblical Jesus and Nonviolence: Matthew 4: 1-11,” also to be held in the Chapel-Auditorium. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Hershberger serves as the chair of the Bible department and teaches Bible and youth ministry classes. She has devoted her life to serving the church as pastor, writer, speaker and instructor.
She has served as renewal speaker for such diverse groups as the United Presbyterians of Canada and the Lutheran foundation, as well as for numerous Mennonite groups.
Hershberger has written three books: “A Christian View of Hospitality,” “Responding to God” and “Our Story: Exploring Christian Faith and Life.”

A Pastor’s Focus will also be held in conjunction with the Bible conference on Monday. Pastoral staff members are invited to attend the 9:30 a.m. session followed by a special session entitled “The Challenges of Following Jesus in a Postmodern World.”
