Seniors honored at the August birthday party, Monday, Aug. 25, at the Senior Center were: Verna Funk, Arpa Ewert, Elda Penner, Linda Ewert, Agnes Steinert and Orlando Schultz. The video “Shepherd of the Hills” was presented after the meal.

The video “Food Safety for Seniors” will be included in the program of games, gab and goodies on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Senior Center.

The Senior Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of Labor Day.

The video “Blood Pressure-Interesting Stuff” will be presented after lunch, Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Senior Center.

The Marion County Retired Teachers and School Personnel will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Senior Center. Connie Isaac, featured speaker, will present “Learning in Retirement.”

Those who volunteered their time at the Senior Center last week were the following:

Kitchen: Gladys Jantz, Velda Hiebert, Irma Groening, Irma Koop, Kim Friesen, Elaine Leppke, Mariann Unruh and Mildred Jantz.

Meal drivers: Jim Brennan and John Vogt.

FISH transportation: Lydia Pankratz, Pearl Koch, Betty Bernhardt and Malinda Suderman.
