Hardeys to celebrate 50th anniversary

George and Earline Hardey of Marion County Lake will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a card-party reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Marion County Lake Hall.

The event is hosted by the couple’s children and grandchildren.

The Hardeys were married Aug. 16, 1953, in Albion, Okla., and resided in Florence for 32 years.

George was employed as a Santa Fe Train dispatcher for 36 years and retired in 1993. Earline is a homemaker.

The couple have five children, Randy Hardey of Goessel, Reba Mackey of DeSota, Ronnie Hardey of Marion, Tangie Edwardson of McPherson and Gina Hett of Tampa. They have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The public is invited to the reception at the lake.

Strodas mark 55th

with open house

Maurice and Margaret Stroda of Ramona will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with an open house and reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 31, in the Lutheran Hall in Ramona.

The couple were married Aug. 31, 1948, at St. John Nepomucene Church, Holy Family Parish in Pilsen.

The celebration will be hosted by the Strodas family, which includes eight children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family also requests a card shower for the couple to be sent to 3485 Quail Creek Road, Ramona, KS 67475.
