HRC to organize ‘mini soccer’ this fall

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission has set Sept. 12 as the deadline to register for a new soccer program called “micro soccer.”

Micro soccer-also known as 3-on-3 soccer-is a scaled-down version of the regular game. It emphasizes skill development, teamwork and fun.

Teams will be divided by age and include boys and girls from 3 years old to 12 years old.

The fall program will run from Sept. 22 until Nov. 1 with practices after school on Monday, Thursday and Friday and games on Saturday mornings. A $30 fee will be charged per participant and include fall and spring play, as well as a t-shirt.

Registration forms can be picked up at Hillsboro City Hall and the local elementary and middle schools.
