Frantz, Vogt exchange vows

Laci Frantz and Matthew Vogt were married July 19 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Tim Sullivan officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Jan Frantz of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of Dave and Wendy Sipka of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Maid of honor was Angie Claassen of Hillsboro, friend of the bride. Best man was Darrin Achenbach of Lindsborg, friend of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Shanda Draper of Colby and Karis Jost of Hillsboro, both friends of the bride. Flower girl and ring bearer were Hannah and Amanda Bartel of rural Hillsboro.

The bride’s personal attendant was Janette Brubacher of Hillsboro, friend of the couple.

Groomsmen were Austin Frantz of Hillsboro, brother of the bride, and Kris Gaynor of Holland, Mich., cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Ted Russell and Don Brubacher, both friends of the couple and of Hillsboro; and Bob Smith of DeWitt, Mich., and Mike Gaynor of Coopersville, Mich., both uncles of the groom.

Candlelighters and attendants were Kaitlyn Wilkinson of Dundee, Ore., friend of the bride; and Ethan Frantz of Hillsboro, brother of the bride.

Guestbook attendants were Jessica Funk of Hillsboro, cousin of the bride; and Katie Fast of Hillsboro, friend of the bride.

Gift carriers were Amanda Moore of Hutchinson, friend of the bride; and Melanie Wiebe of Hillsboro, friend of the bride.

Musicians were pianist Marlene Fast and trumpeter Randy Claassen, both of Hillsboro. Vocalists were Angie Claassen, Leonard Frantz and Nolan Frantz of Hillsboro, brother of the bride.

The reception was held in the church activity center following the ceremony. Hosts were Kent and Jo Niehage of McPherson.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Hillsboro High School and will attend college this fall majoring in social work.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Smokey Valley Home School and will continue his education this fall in physical education and coaching.

The rehearsal dinner was held on July 19 in the fellowship hall of Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church and hosted by the groom’s parents.

Following the wedding, the couple went on a honeymoon to Colorado Springs, Colo.

Harris, Sullivan

married in Jamaica

Jennifer Harris and Ryan Sullivan were married in a double-ring ceremony on July 14 at Sandals Resort in Negril, Jamaica.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Roxanne Harris of Omaha, Neb. The groom is the son of Tim and Donna Sullivan of Hillsboro.

The reception was held at the resort.

The bride graduated in 2002 from Kansas State University. She is an information and referral coordinator for the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Mission.

The groom is a graduate of Hillsboro High School, attended two years at Tabor College in Hillsboro, and graduated in 2001 from Kansas State University. He is a sales/service representative for Cintas Corp. in Olathe.

Following a honeymoon in Negril, the couple resides in Gardner.

Friesen, Thiessen celebrate marriage

Carissa Friesen and Anthony Thiessen were married May 17 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastor Laney Kuhn officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Linda Friesen of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of Walter Thiessen and Pam Ratzlaff, both of Hillsboro.

Matron of honor was Rebecca Soyez of Hillsboro. Best man was Phillip Thiessen, also of Hillsboro.

Bridesmaids were Lindsey Suderman of Pittsburg, Adrianna Mater of Olathe, Nicole Jones of Hillsboro and Lynnae Craft of Wichita. Flower girl was Faye Lynn Smith of Michigan Town, Ind.

Groomsmen were Adam Kleiber, Jason Hamm and C.J. Regier, all of Hillsboro; and Brian Funk of Lehigh. Ringbearer was Jarret McLinden of Marion.

Ushers were Jeff Soyez and Matt Jost, both of Hillsboro; and Justin Friesen of Salina.

Musician was Kathy Decker on the organ.

The bride wore a pearl-colored two-piece duchess-satin gown featuring a strapless bodice detailed with crystals and beads that accented an asymmetric front drape. The A-line skirt was adorned with a blizzard of beads above the hemline that wrapped around a sweep train.

The bride’s bouquet was made of white peonies with satin ribbon.

Decorations included peonies and candles.

The reception was held in the home of Wayne and Linda Friesen. Hosts were Kirby and Kathy Rector of Hillsboro and Ken and Gayleen Smith of Olathe.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Hillsboro High School and graduated from Hesston College. She is a registered nurse in McPherson.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He is employed with Excel Industries Inc. in Hesston.

The rehearsal dinner was held on May 16 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Following a honeymoon in Alberta, Canada, the couple resides in Hillsboro.
