Molly’s hosts old-fashioned tea party

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Four ladies from Abilene and Enterprise stop by Molly’s on Main Street on July 23 to enjoy an afternoon tea party amid antique memorabilia. Seated left to right are Verda Gay, Connie Berry, Marilyn Palmer and Margie Picking. Janice Porter, Molly’s manager, served tea and lemonade as the ladies drank from vintage tea cups and raised their little fingers to sip the refreshments in the old-fashioned mannerism of days past. The ladies took the afternoon off from their jobs at Brown Memorial Home, a retirement home located south of Abilene. “This is the first time to have a tea party,” said Picking. “And we want to have it more often. We like Janice’s attitude and like to shop at Molly’s on Main-so that’s why we decided to have it here.”
