Justina Klaassen, 95

Justina Klaassen, 95, former cook at Tabor College in Hillsboro, died June 15 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The funeral was June 17 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro with pastors Tim Sullivan and Roy Keller officiating. Burial was at Gnadenau Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

She was born March 8, 1908, to Jacob R. and Justina (Block) Klaassen in Herbert, Saskatchewan.

She is survived by three nephews, Ron Klaassen of Newark, N.J., Milford Klaassen of rural Hillsboro and Kevin Klaassen of Big Spring, Texas, and two nieces, Loretta Paxton and Diana Ewert, both of Wichita.

A memorial has been established with Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church.

Ruth Fisher, 90

Ruth Fisher, 90, homemaker, died June 11 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The funeral was June 14 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with pastor Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 18, 1913, to Thomas and Ida Roseberry in Chicago. On Jan. 12, 1934, she was married to Frank Fisher, who predeceased her in 1975.

She is survived by a son, Jay Fisher and wife Shirley of Chicago; a daughter, Connie Fisher of Marion; a brother, Earl Roseberry of Florida; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Leukemia Society in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.

Rueben Kohler, 90

Rueben Gilbert Kohler, 90, retired Beech Aircraft employee, died June 12 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

The funeral was June 14 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville with pastor Alan Stahlecker officiating. Burial was at Lincolnville Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 30, 1912, to pastor John H. and Martha A. (Gilbert) Kohler in Liverpool, Penn. On June 1, 1941, he was married to Ethel A. Otte, who predeceased him in 1997.

He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Mills and husband Steven of Newton; a brother, Max Kohler of Silver Spring, Md.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Velma Fitzmaurice, 73

Velma R. Fitzmaurice, 73, homemaker, died June 15 at her home in rural Lincolnville.

The graveside service will be held Friday, June 20, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita with pastor Bill Sherfy officiating.

She was born May 6, 1930, to Joe and Izora (Widener) Cannon in Wichita. On May 18, 1948, she was married to Robert “Rocky” Fitzmaurice, who survives.

She is also survived by three sons, John Fitzmaurice of El Dorado, and John and Jim Fitzmaurice, both of Lincolnville; three daughters, Mary Jane Morrison of Pilsen, Julie McMillan of Oregon, and Paula Love of Lincolnville; two sisters, Thelma Middleton of Arkansas and Marie Vanderkillen of Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
