Three Tabor academic divisions announce award winners Monday

Students in three academic divisions at Tabor College were recognized for their accomplishments at the spring honors convocation held Monday, May 5.

Each division presents awards to a select number of students for special recognition. Students are awarded on the basis of leadership, academic excellence and success in their specific division.

Education, Social Science, and Applied Arts Awards: Elisabeth Braun, Wasco, Calif.; Ryan Camping, Peoria, Ariz.; Daniel Douglass, Wichita; Rachel Evans, Neal; Jennifer Ewertt, Wichita; Susan Fast, Guymon, Okla.; Landon Fulmer, Buhler; Carmen Hein, Hillsboro; Nancy Isaac, Meade; Rebecca Jons, Bonesteel, S.D.; Katherine Klepper, Sabetha; Julie Krich, Hillsboro; Holly Ross, Plainville; Bradley Shields, Lindsborg; Stacy Sneed, Haviland; Paula Spells, Chula Vista, Calif.; Jessica Tatro, Buhler; and Michael Zollinger, Wichita. Jonathan Hullman, St. John, also received the Robert Watson Memorial Scholarship.

Humanities awards: Benjamin Bricker, Meriden; Adriana Burns, Wichita; Julie Egy, Wichita; James Fisher, Wichita; Landon Fulmer, Buhler; Jennifer Hope, McPherson; Amanda Karber, Park City; Angela Kleinsasser, Wichita; Nancy Miller, Partridge; Isai Mireles, Rio Grande City, Texas; Chrissy Previtera, Wichita; Marcia Pucket, Ulysses; Joe Stutzman, Kalispell, Mont.; and Shawna Stutzman, Lititz, Pa.

The Tabor Bible Award was given to Sara Waldner, Carpenter, S.D., and, the Jake and Selma Friesen Music Scholarship was awarded to Lisa Loewen, also of Carpenter, S.D.

Natural and mathematical sciences awards: James Fisher, Wichita; Kevin Nickel, Goessel; Paul Raugust, Wichita; and Brant Unrau, Wolf Point, Mont.

Other awards in this division were given to: James Fisher, Wichita, American Chemical Society Award; Michael Friesen, Wichita, Outstanding Freshman Chemistry Student; Sara Berg, Hillsboro, Michael Friesen, Wichita, Edward Hett, Wichita, and Erin Voth, Fortuna, Mo., William J. Johnson Scholarships; Peter Miller, Hutchinson, Solomon L. Loewen Scholarship. David Penner, Hillsboro, David B. Wiens Mathematical Scholarship.
