The Tabor College men’s golf team finished ninth out of 17 teams at a tournament hosted by Southwestern College on Thursday and Friday.

The event was played at Quail Ridge Country Club in Winfield.

“It was a very good field again,” coach Randy Keck said.

Mike Jamieson was the high finisher for Tabor, placing fourth with scores of 77-71-76.

“This was fantastic with the strength of the field,” Keck said. “Overall, the team played well, but still not up to our potential.”

On the women’s side, the Tabor finished eighth out of 10 teams.

“The bright spot was Diane Soldan,” Keck said. The freshman from Manhattan finished ninth with scores of 82-89.

“We also incorporated the first-ever KCAC women’s conference tournament,” Keck said. “We finished second to Southwestern. Diane finished second, so she was first team all-conference.”
